For requesting facilities

Health facility staff use InteLIS to register the samples they collect, send them to a testing lab, and get the results back. This page lists that work and links to the steps for each task.

What a facility account sees

  • Facility staff work on the central system (STS). The role's Access Type is Collection Site.
  • The account sees only the requests of the facilities linked to it.
  • The menu shows only what the role allows. Receiving manifests, entering results, and approving results happen at the testing lab.

The work in order

  1. Sign in. See How to sign in and navigate InteLIS.
  2. Register a test request for each sample collected. See How to register a viral load test request.
  3. List the samples on a manifest, print it, and put it in the package. See How to send samples to a testing lab on a manifest.
  4. Follow each sample under HIV VIRAL LOAD → Request Management → View Test Requests. See Sample statuses for what each status means.
  5. Get the results. Once the lab approves a result and syncs, it shows in the Result column under View Test Requests. Print the patient report under HIV VIRAL LOAD → Management → Print Result, on the Results not yet Printed tab. See How to release results to the requesting facility.
  6. Look up a patient's earlier results under HIV VIRAL LOAD → Management → Clinic Reports, on the Patient Test History tab. Search by patient ID or name. The history covers every test type and only the facilities linked to the account. See Viral load reports.

When something is wrong

Problem Action
The facility is missing from the request form Ask the administrator to link the facility to the account and to the test
A sample stays at Sample Currently Registered at Health Center after the package left The lab has not activated the manifest, or has not synced since. Contact the lab with the manifest code
A request was entered twice Ask the testing lab to cancel the duplicate
A sample was rejected Read the rejection reason on the request, then collect and send again
A result looks wrong for the patient Contact the lab with the Sample ID before acting on it
