These terms govern your use of the InteLIS Mobile application. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What the app is
InteLIS Mobile is a client application for the InteLIS lab information system. It allows authorised staff to register test requests, record results, and view results released by the laboratory.
The app does not hold your organisation's data on its own. It connects to an InteLIS server operated by your ministry of health, laboratory network or other issuing organisation, at a server address you supply when signing in. Your use of that server, and the availability and accuracy of everything it provides, is governed by your relationship with its operator, not with us.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- Accounts are issued by your organisation through its InteLIS server. We do not create, approve or manage accounts.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials and app PIN confidential and for all activity carried out under your account.
- You must be authorised by your organisation to register test requests and handle patient information on its behalf.
- If you believe your credentials have been compromised, notify your InteLIS administrator immediately.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- enter test requests or results you know to be false, fabricated, or not produced by the process your organisation requires;
- share your account with another person, or use another person's account;
- use the app to access a server you are not authorised to access, or to attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to any server;
- copy, export or disclose patient information from the app except as your organisation's policies and applicable law permit.
4. Professional responsibility
InteLIS Mobile is not a medical device. It is a data entry and retrieval tool for a lab information system. It does not perform, interpret or validate any diagnostic test. Results it displays are those recorded on your organisation's server, and clinical decisions remain the responsibility of qualified staff following your organisation's procedures.
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter. Verify that requests entered offline have synchronised successfully before relying on them.
5. Availability
The app is provided without any guarantee of availability. Its usefulness depends on a server we do not control and on your own network connectivity. Features may change or be withdrawn between releases. We may stop publishing updates at any time, though the source code remains available under its licence.
6. Open source licence
InteLIS Mobile is free and open-source software. The source code is published at github.com/deforay/intelis-mobile under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3.
You are free to use, study, modify and redistribute the software under the terms of that licence, which include the requirement that modified versions, including versions offered over a network, be released under the same licence. Where these terms and the AGPL-3.0 conflict in respect of the source code, the AGPL-3.0 governs the source code.
The licence grants rights to the software. It does not grant you any right to access a particular InteLIS server, nor any right to use the names, logos or branding of Deforay or of any organisation that operates InteLIS.
7. Third-party services
The app is distributed through Google Play. Your use of Google Play is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy. The app itself does not use any third-party services.
8. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that data will not be lost.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Deforay Developers Team and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, results, profits or reputation, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the app, whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damage.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Termination
Your organisation may suspend or close your account at its discretion. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Sections 9 and 10 survive termination.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The current version is always published at this address with its effective date. Continued use of the app after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
